Penn State’s OPP ITS Group at University Park currently has an internship position available. We are seeking highly motivated, flexible college students, and have a great team ethic who are working towards a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Internship Summary: The intern will assist specialized IT project teams in developing documentation, procedures, solutions and tools. The selected candidate will work in a fast paced, project-oriented environment and will be involved in many facets of a project management, execution and implementation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Under work guidance of project leads, assists and supports IT in development of IT products and solutions for business initiatives Opportunity to work with IT toolsets such as: project methodologies, Oracle, AtTask (project management software), java programming, Active Directory; create/analyze process workflows to increase efficiency across work teams; responsible for gathering, compiling and synthesizing information with regard to technology processes or systems Utilizes Microsoft Office products to prepare spreadsheets with data interpretation; provide support with project meetings (schedule project meetings, assist with project documentation, document meeting minutes, and project action/task items); communicate project/program manager requirements; creates and maintains files. In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: Currently enrolled in a four-year accredited undergraduate program Minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 Scale; enrolled in a Computer Science or Information Technology education program; exceptional information analysis abilities; ability to perform independent analysis and distill relevant findings and root cause; ability to support and work in a team environment with strong analytical writing skills to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively; technical writing abilities are desired, but not required; self-directed performer with the ability to learn quickly and pursue opportunities with enthusiasm and focus.
