Description

The Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University seeks outstanding applicants for tenure-track faculty positions in all areas of chemistry, broadly defined. Both junior and senior candidates are encouraged to apply. While the research focus of the search is broad, candidates whose scientific interests complement those of existing faculty are preferred. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, biological, physical, theoretical, computational, analytical, and inorganic chemistry, as well as interdisciplinary research in the materials and life sciences. Successful applicants should have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of research accomplishments, an innovative future research plan, and be capable of achieving teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Department of Chemistry at Penn State offers a stimulating environment that supports cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, including a 177,000 square foot chemistry research building on the University Park campus, excellent shared instrumentation facilities, and close interactions with the Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, the Materials Research Institute, and the Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment. In addition to submitting the Penn State application, cover letter, current CV, and brief statement of research interests must be submitted at https://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/7490. Applicants will also need to arrange for three reference letters to be submitted to Academic Jobs Online. Applicants will be evaluated starting September 26, 2016, and the search will continue until the positions are filled. Penn State is responsive to the needs of dual career couples.
