The Department of Physics at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill several postdoctoral positions in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidates will participate in the research program of Dr. Kin Fai Mak and/or Dr. Jie Shan to study the electronic and optical properties of nanoscale materials and devices. These projects involve sample/device fabrication and electrical and/or optical characterization. The ideal candidate should have experience with at least one of the following areas: optical and electrical characterization of nanoscale materials and devices, nanofabrication, optical microscopy, and ultrafast optics. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Physics or a related field. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter, CV and statement of research interests. These are fixed-term appointments funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of re-funding.
