Marketing Communications Specialist (Brand Strategist)
University Marketing in the Office of Strategic Communications is looking for a marketing professional with writing expertise and a strong working knowledge of managing and planning integrated marketing and communications campaigns. Position responsibilities includes: Planning, coordination, and execution of branding and marketing initiatives in various platforms including print, web, video, social media, email, and other electronic and interactive mediums; consultation and review with communicators, partners, and stakeholders throughout the University on brand strategy, strategic messaging, and related issues. (University Marketing maintains University-wide standards for editorial style, visual identity, and compliance with the brand.); leading and working with creative teams to develop concepts and content for integrated marketing campaigns, including recruitment and other areas of significant strategic value to the University; managing the creation and curation of featured content on the University’s homepage; and, managing and/or writing content for complex internal and external promotional communications including online, print, and new media. This job will be filled as a level 3, or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 3. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects are required. Working knowledge of the principles of search engine optimization, content audits, and information architecture as well as other factors involved in writing for the web preferred.
