The office of Science Outreach in the College of Science is currently seeking applicants to be summer mentors for the SEECoS program, which is the Summer Experience in the Eberly College of Science. Applicants must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be responsible for co-designing, preparing and executing a 6-week research project supervised by an ECoS faculty member. Mentors will supervise a group of high school students from the UBMS program at Penn State and assist them to conduct research, write a formal report, prepare a formal presentation, and compete at a research symposium. REQUIREMENTS: desire to work with high school students of varying backgrounds, interest in educational experimental design, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job. Applicants must be part of a research group already involved in SEECoS. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter and cv. Remuneration: Stipend commensurate with position.
