This position as manager for the Penn State women’s tennis team consists of learning to string tennis racquets, working with video, and office work. Learning to string tennis racquets would be determined by the different methods of using one piece of string or two pieces. In addition, one would need to understand the differences between the variety of strings used and the tensions each individual player uses including their specific racquet. Video work will include transferring each singles and doubles matches from the cameras to larger storage. The Manager will need to compress and label each match with the player’s names and scores. Office work includes taking inventory. The Manager will need to keep inventory on string, grips and cases of tennis balls. This position will also need to help in the preparation of team travel. Needs for team travel are to pack the travel bag with tennis balls, cameras and mounts, grips, string (with players tensions) and nutritional products. Game day set up will consist of designing a poster for match promotion, organizing viewing area for spectators, setting up cameras to record matches and occasionally helping with team meals.
