This position will assist in coordinating effective delivery of services and meeting the immediate production needs of artists and presenters who use production management services in Schwab Auditorium and in the Flex Theatre in the HUB-Robeson Center. Duties may include directing lighting, sound, stage, and usher crews during assigned events, assisting with the supervision of student event staff, operation of equipment in these same areas during performances, hanging/focusing lighting instruments, setting up audio systems, assembling scenic elements, or wardrobe preparation during load in and load out of performances, and attendance at pre-production meetings for assigned events. Duties include physical labor and occasional lifting. Assistant Production Coordinators are responsible for greeting and assisting audience members at all events and enforcing Schwab Auditorium and Flex Theatre event policies. It is the expectation that the staff be courteous and friendly while providing a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. Qualifications include, but are not limited to: excellent oral and written communication skills; multitasking abilities; ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to train staff in a variety of skills; and excellent organizational abilities. Previous stage crew experience is required. Scheduling for work is dependent on event needs. A flexible schedule with the ability to work several consecutive hours during daytime, evening and weekend periods is required. This is a 24 hour/week position for one semester with the possibility of continuing for additional semesters. Successful candidates will be required to go through a background check process.
