The Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center Corporation (RMC) is a non-profit organization leading development, expansion, and creation of demand for recycled materials use in Pennsylvania. The RMC serves as a technical and business resource that supports Pennsylvania recycled materials end use. The RMC is funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and supported by The Pennsylvania State University, specifically Penn State Harrisburg. The RMC seeks applications for a part-time Technical Specialist, 16 – 24 hours per week. The successful candidate will provide multi-tasked support at the RMC, primarily for assistance in completing the work plan of our Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Grant (DEP). The candidates should be able to conduct technical and business research, largely in manufacturing and recycling processes, possess literacy in Microsoft and Apple applications, possess proficiency in data entry, with fluent communication skills and business etiquette. Typical project or program assignments include: assist in development and completion of technical projects; outreach industry programs; and markets development programs that enhance the marketability, value, and use of Pennsylvania recycled materials; support markets and program development of the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center through management and cataloging of recycling markets data, including but not limited to population of website based markets information; capacity, and material supply analysis; conduct up-to-date markets development research in effort to provide recommendations on emerging markets development programming; support and assist in social media campaign(s) of the Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center; support and promote principles of Pennsylvania Recycling Markets Center, Inc. through promotion of "Buy Recycled" message. This position is available, based upon funding, until June 30, 2016 or until supporting project needs are met.
