Description

Ben Franklin Transformations Business Services is the principal provider of management and business assistance to entrepreneurs and early-stage companies that are being supported by Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Central and Northern PA. This position serves as the principal point-of-contact for the Ben Franklin Transformations team in South Central PA, covering Franklin, Adams, York, Lancaster Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, and Perry counties. Additional services may be provided to other companies over a larger 32-county BF service area when they align with the candidate’s technical expertise. Primary responsibility is to implement the programs, services and activities of the Transformations Business Services program, and to ensure the program maintains its positive image among constituents including clients, professional service providers and sources of business finance. The principal duty of the position is the diagnosis of company management, operational and growth issues, and the delivery or procurement of the appropriate type of assistance. These services are provided most often in the critical start-up or early-stage of the company’s growth. Services provided by the Transformations team include sales and marketing strategy, corporate strategy, market research, cash management, financial planning, accounting operations, and software training. Additional responsibilities include the review of business strategies and active participation in planning sessions to define clear and measurable objectives for each company, monitor client progress and develop corrective strategies as needed. In addition, the Field Office Director will be responsible for organizing and supporting efforts to create a strong entrepreneurial support system in the Region, both directly and in conjunction with other service providers. This position reports directly to the Director of Ben Franklin Transformations. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Entrepreneurial and start-up business experience a plus. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
